Things are not great for President Biden right now. After a disastrous first debate against former President Donald Trump, many people voiced their concerns about his condition and whether or not he’s in a fit state to run for re-election and potentially serve a second term. Things got so bad that the New York Times editorial board published a piece urging him to drop out in the best interests of the country.
Brutal. The @nytimes editorial board calls for Biden to step aside, writing “the greatest public service Mr. Biden can now perform is to announce that he will not continue to run for re-election.” https://t.co/BAdAHJteox

Biden’s debate performance has left many wondering how it all got to this point — there have been whispers of dementia or some other form of incapacitation for years, pre-dating his election in 2020 — and why, in particular, his family continues to urge him to stay the course.
One ABC News contributor thinks she might have found the reason: so Dr. Jill Biden could make the cover of Vogue. Dr. Biden’s August Vogue cover was revealed earlier this week, just days after her husband’s trainwreck of a debate against Trump, and shows Biden in a Ralph Lauren Collection dress accompanied by the headline, “We Will Decide Our Future.”
At some point, after so many warning signs, it starts to look like this is why the Biden family won’t let him leave the race. https://t.co/9yuBqf6iqq

In response, journalist Sarah Isgur tweeted, “At some point, after so many warning signs, it starts to look like this is why the Biden family won’t let him leave the race.” Cynical? Yes. True? Who knows, but it’s about as legitimate as all of the other reasons to continue encouraging him to run for re-election at this point.

Many of the comments on Vogue’s Instagram post were negative, with people calling Dr. Biden power hungry, a woman “only concerned for herself” and boasting that they’ll never vote for her husband, although it’s apparent many of the comments are from conservatives who were never going to vote for the Democratic candidate anyway, even if it were someone other than Joe Biden.
Whatever reason the Biden family has for encouraging Joe to stay in the race, and whatever reasons the DNC has for going along with it, it’s fairly obvious that the interests of the American people are secondary to their own desires. Trump is either leading or neck-and-neck with Biden in current polls, and the man was recently convicted of a felony.
If your candidate is so uninspiring he can’t beat a convicted felon with ease, it might be time to go back to the drawing board.
